  • Why do I need the CPS (ChemIT Pricing Services) CEE polyolefins monitor?
    • CEE is not a homogeneous market. All the countries have different prices, tendencies and driving factors.
      • The CPS monitoring service helps you to have reliable information about the actual prices HDPE/LDPE/PP resin grades were sold or purchased last week.
      • To forecast the price movement per resin /grade type per country/ for the next week.
      • To be informed about the source of the lowest resin price.
    • Prices are given in euros with DDP parity.

  • What does the CPS provide me?
    • Good market overview of the CEE PO price movements per week, per month.

  • I do subscribe for Platts/ KI / ICIS LOR etc. What and how do I benefit from CPS?
    • As mentioned CEE is not a homogeneous market. In order to have reliable information about the markets of each individual country you need information coming from the markets of each country.

  • I do not purchase CEE manufactured PO resin grades? Why should I subscribe for the CPS? How do I benefit from that?
    • You should have information about your fellow competitors (processors or resin manufacturers). Your end products might compete with them in the CEE region.

  • What is the major difference between the CPS and the competitors?
    • CPS has a different methodology than the competitors do.
    • CPS primary data is based on data coming from the processor and not the suppliers.

  • What is the methodology of CPS?
  • What does Low/Average/ High price mean?
    • Low: Usually value of the lowest price transaction in each segment (country/grade type)
    • Average: Average value of the deals per segment per country.
    • High: The value of the highest transaction. Sometimes it means a material with special characteristics.

  • How reliable are the CPS publications, forecasts?
    • It is based on corrected trend analysis.
    • Data comes from actual transactions.
    • The primary data comes from hundreds of processors. It represents the market and its structure well. If one plastic processor tries to mislead the trends it does not have too much effect on the final figures. See methodology.
  • How should I use the CPS access?
    • Because hundreds of your fellow competitors use it already as an indicator.
